Portobello & Golborne Markets

Now that summer is (almost) in the air it's the perfect time of year to explore the Portobello & Golborne Markets. Good news is that on Thursday 16th, 23rd & 30th May, as well as 6th June the Golborne Market will be open all day rather than closing early afternoon. After the markets were awarded "Best Street/Outdoor Market 2013" we, as ever, think they're worth a peruse if you've not spent much time trying the Moroccan foods, checking out the gorgeous antiques and vintage stalls and generally getting involved in the fun community vibe down here!

Whilst you're on the Golborne Road come by to number 70 and find out what delights we have on offer in the studio. It's an exciting time at Golborne Place with the success of the first ever UK Antigymnastiqe workshops with Andrzej Szkandera, some plans in the pipe line for Body Realignment Open Days and the brilliant Everybody Ballet classes for beginners through to pros.

Hopefully see you soon!

Ministry of Cooks

We love hearing about new creative endeavours and the Ministry of Cooks is no exception. Having cooked for the good and the great over the last few years, Nicola Easton has branched out with her partner Sophie Thursfield to set up her own company. As some of you foodies out there may already know she has been cooking for Downing Street for the last ten years, making breakfasts for the Prime Minster, lunch for city bankers, and afternoon tea for Michelle Obama.

Nicola & Sophie talk passionately about what they do and the range of culinary challenges they take on:

"Unsurprisingly, ingredients are really important to us. They are always free range and, wherever possible, organic, Fairtrade and British. All our food is freshly prepared on the day.

We relish the whole process of meeting and collaborating with clients, adapting our menus to suit their needs, whatever the event, from a small dinner party to  larger celebrations.

Quality, inventiveness and taste are essential, but we also know how important it can be to work to a budget. Special dietary requirements are never a problem."
